What a smart controller actually does
A smart controller replaces your old dial timer with a Wi-Fi unit that pulls local weather data. When Kissimmee gets an afternoon downpour, it skips the next cycle on its own. During a heat wave, it adds run time. It also knows your watering days under local restrictions and programs around them. You control everything from your phone.
The Florida case is stronger than most states
Two reasons: rain is unpredictable here, and water is expensive here. A fixed timer waters on schedule whether it rained yesterday or not — that is money on the sidewalk. Homeowners who switch typically see their irrigation water use drop noticeably in the first year, and the controller keeps paying back every year after. Most units pay for themselves within a couple of watering seasons.
What installation involves
We mount the new controller where the old one was, wire each zone, connect it to your Wi-Fi, and program run times for your lawn, beds, and soil type. The visit usually takes one to two hours, and we walk you through the app before we leave. If your Wi-Fi doesn't reach the garage, we will say so up front and suggest a fix.
